Claims

Important. Please note that in the event of a claim there is a limit of 30 days to register your claim. In cases of theft/accidents involving your vehicle, or burglaries/theft of goods from your home, or theft/loss of items covered under an All Risks section, you have to report the incident to the police immediately.

As part of Benneton’s efforts to add value to the service and products we offer the following claims documents to be completed and forwarded back to our efficient and helpful claims staff.

Please Note. In the event of a claim it is very important to obtain all details of the Third Party involved to enable the Insurer to speed up the claims process. Information required : Vehicle Registration number, Contact name and phone number, Insurer details, ID number.

Excess

The excess is the first amount payable by you in the event of a claim ; regardless of whether you are at fault or not . If it is proven that you are not at fault in the event of a motor accident and the Insurer successfully recovers the amount of damages from the Third Party, you will be reimbursed your excess and your Claim Free Group will be re-instated.

Unfortunately, this process is always time consuming depending on certain circumstances and the Insurers are not always successful.

There are certain circumstances when the excess cannot be recovered i.e

The insured not having third-party particulars
The third party not having any income or any assets to attach
The legal costs outweighing the recovery costs
The third party having left the country or is untraceable
The merits of the claim not justifying the recovery.
